MDCAT 2026 Fee Structure
Every year, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) — together with the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore for Punjab — sets a single national MDCAT fee. For MDCAT 2026, that fee is divided into two slabs depending on when you submit your application:
| Category | Fee (PKR) | When Applicable |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Registration Fee | Rs. 9,000 | From the date the portal opens until the regular deadline |
| Late Registration Fee | Rs. 13,000 | Short late window after the regular deadline closes |
| Re-submission / Correction Fee | Rs. 0 – 1,000 (case-by-case) | Only if PMDC opens a correction window |
The fee covers the test itself, computer-based test centre allocation, biometric verification at the centre and the result/score report issued by PMDC. There is no separate charge for sitting the MDCAT itself once registration is complete.
How to Pay the MDCAT Fee Online
The entire payment is handled through the official PMDC MDCAT portal. There is no in-person counter for fee submission. After completing your registration form, the portal will generate a unique challan/voucher number tied to your CNIC.
Accepted Payment Methods
- 1-Bill / Bank Challan: Print the auto-generated voucher and pay at any HBL, UBL or other designated bank branch listed on the challan.
- JazzCash: Open the JazzCash app, choose Bill Payments → 1-Bill Invoice / Voucher, enter your consumer number and confirm.
- EasyPaisa: Same flow as JazzCash — use the 1-Bill / Voucher option and enter the consumer number printed on your challan.
- Debit / Credit Card: Pay directly inside the PMDC portal using any Visa, MasterCard or local debit card.
- Internet Banking: Most major banks (HBL, UBL, Meezan, Bank Alfalah) allow 1-Bill voucher payments through their mobile/web apps.
MDCAT Late Fee — Who Should Pay It?
If you miss the regular registration window, PMDC usually opens a brief late-registration window (typically 5–7 days). During this window, the fee jumps from Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 13,000 — an Rs. 4,000 surcharge. After the late window closes, no further registrations are accepted under any circumstances. There is no option to pay an additional surcharge to register after the late deadline.
Is the MDCAT Fee Refundable?
No. The MDCAT 2026 fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Once PMDC confirms your payment, the fee cannot be returned even if:
- You decide not to appear in the test
- You are absent on test day for any reason (illness, emergency, transport, etc.)
- You are declared ineligible after submission
- You register twice by mistake (duplicate payments are also non-refundable)
The only exception is if PMDC itself cancels or postpones the test in a way that requires fresh registration — in that case, fee adjustments are announced through an official notice on pmdc.pk.
MDCAT Fee Comparison — Last 5 Years
The MDCAT fee has steadily increased since the PMDC took over from PMC. Here is how it has changed:
| Year | Regular Fee | Late Fee |
|---|---|---|
| MDCAT 2022 | Rs. 5,200 | Rs. 8,000 |
| MDCAT 2023 | Rs. 6,200 | Rs. 9,500 |
| MDCAT 2024 | Rs. 7,500 | Rs. 11,000 |
| MDCAT 2025 | Rs. 8,500 | Rs. 12,000 |
| MDCAT 2026 | Rs. 9,000 | Rs. 13,000 |
Common Fee-Related Issues & Fixes
Payment deducted but portal still says "Unpaid"
This is the most common complaint. Wait 24–48 hours — most 1-Bill payments take a full working day to reflect. If it still does not update, email PMDC support with your transaction ID, CNIC and screenshot of the bank receipt.
Double payment by mistake
Duplicate payments are not refunded. If you accidentally paid twice, the second payment cannot be applied to a friend's account or carried over to the next year. Always verify payment status before paying again.
Wrong CNIC entered on the challan
If the CNIC printed on the voucher is wrong, do not pay it. Generate a new challan from the portal first, otherwise PMDC cannot link the payment to your registration and the fee is effectively lost.
